At the moment I am trying to move to WordPress as my host server. There is a easy way to move the whole thing but just to press the "import- button" is not good enough for me. So at the moment I am trying to customise the template to my liking and it might take a long time to be finished. Meanwhile I will try to update this blog at blogspot.

I am having my own domain now: www.i-can-do-science.com
Host server costs 9 dollars/month; 15 gig of space, mysql database (50); php editor; etc, etc
Furthermore they install WordPress for you, which has a better "engine" than blogger, but if you want a free webhost and still able to customize your templates; stay at blogger!!

I also found a blog that has a reader poll, which blog editor is the best. For the results check the blog...

A Day of Working out...

This morning we could sleep until 9 am before our "wake-up call" started to be awake. After being waken up we had a easy going breakfast and we prepared to go to the swimming pool. Towels, ball, some other toys for our daughter and of course our bathing suits. We weren't the only with a baby and it surprised me because it is Sunday and 10 am, for normal standards quit early during the weekend but of course they also have children that wake up early. So we "swam" a lot; it was more like floating around in the warm water, looking around, drinking some coffee, entertaining my daughter and girlfriend.

After lunch I went off to go climbing with my friend E. We would see each other at 14.00 and I was late, at least that was what I thought, but I received a text-message that my friend was late too; he missed an exit on the highway..Still better than have an accident like last holidays..We climbed for 3 hours and we went off to our houses.

So in conclusion, I did a lot of sport today and now I am allowed to eat a bit more than usually.

Wireless

Today we decide to go wireless in our house. We have good reasons for doing so. First of all it is "more" saver for our child to have less cable going around through our apartment. In this case she can not pull some stupid cable from the computer or modem. Second, we now also have a router so this is also convenient for my girlfriend internet activity. She is now also "on-line" instead of only me. Third reason, it just looks better without cable...
At the moment I am posting while my girlfriend is speaking to a colleague about some paper...I am impressed as it is officially weekend. So for me no thinking about work for now, maybe tomorrow or the day after. I will try to work on my chapter for my thesis, I have taken some papers to home to read and to use them for this introduction-chapter. I cannot say it will happen that I will do something but in case, the papers are at home.
Ok, that's it for today, now I have to connect the notebook of my girlfriend and play with my daughter...

Work

Yesterday it went well with preparing things like correcting my manuscript, writing a chapter for my thesis. I also did some practical things; coating some plates for an ELISA assay. At the end of the day I was quit happy.
But still writing does not go as fast as I want it to be. Especially looking for references is a real pain in my ass. At this moment I am looking for an article about G+C content but of course I cannot find anything so finally I decide to just delete this sentence.
Also today I received an e-mail back from one of my co-authors about my manusript. I was afraid for some major corrections but I had to fear anything. There was only one small/minor thing about the name of a manufacturer...So I corrected and will wait for some other response of the rest of the co-authors. Meanwhile I will go on with writing chapters and do some stuff for to have some data for other (possible) publications.
